The excitement this week came as we made our own volcanoes! First, we went outside and the children worked in pairs to build a cup into a snow pile to make a "volcano." Then, we put baking soda and vinegar (and a little red paint) in the cups and watched the explosions happen. The students really enjoyed this (unfortunately, our camera wasn't working at this point, so we didn't get any pictures).
Later in the day, we tried the experiment in the classroom again. As you can see from the pictures, the students were always very excited each time we put the ingredients together and made the "volcano" overflow. So much fun!
